Ingredients
2poundsstew beefcut into 1 inch cubes
2tablespoonsbutter
¼cupflour
2cupswater
1cupapple cider or apple juice
½cupsteak sauce
¼teaspoonground thyme
4medium potatoespeeled and cubed
3medium carrotschopped
1medium onionchopped
1cupfrozen cut green beans
salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add beef and brown the outside. It does not need to be cooked through- just browned on the outside to keep it juicy in the slow cooker.
Add the flour. Stir to incorporate, and set aside.
In your slow cooker, mix together water, cider, steak sauce, thyme, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
Add potatoes and vegetables and stir to combine.
Add beef and stir again. Allow to cook on low in the slow cooker for 6-8 hours, until vegetables are tender and beef is cooked through. Add salt and pepper to taste before serving.
