Butter Herb Roasted Turkey
Golden, juicy, and delicious, this Butter Herb Roasted Turkey recipe won't disappoint with a hint of buttery herb flavor and a beautiful color. Will be the highlight of your holiday table!
- Whole turkey thawed if frozen, 1-1 1/2 pounds per person
- 1 cup butter softened
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon dried sage
- 1/4 teaspoon ground thyime
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
In a medium bowl, whisk together butter with all spices and seasonings.
Rub half of the butter mixture underneath the skin on the breast.
Rub the remaining butter mixture on the skin.
Let the turkey stand at 30 minutes at room temperature before roasting.
Put the oven rack in the lowest position. Place the turkey breast side up on a rack in a large roasting pan.
Roast in a 350° oven and roast until skin turns golden and a thermometer reads 165° when inserted into the thigh, about 15 minutes per pound.
Allow to rest 30 minutes before carving.
