Ingredients
1 ¾cupsflour
¾teaspoonbaking soda
¼teaspoonsalt
½cupshortening
¾cupsugar
1egg
½teaspoonvanilla extractor lemon or almond
Instructions
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add egg and beat well. Then add vanilla (or other flavoring) and mix again.
Add dry ingredients and stir by hand with a large spoon.
Roll cookies out on a floured surface using a floured rolling pin. Cut out cookies using a glass or cookie cutters.
Place rolled out cookies on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350° for about 5-7, until lightly brown on the edges. Cool before frosting.
