Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes are a quick and easy 30 minute weeknight meal featuring ground beef in a gooey, creamy sauce with peppers and onions, topped with more cheese and baked to golden, melted perfection.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown ground beef with onion, pepper, and garlic. When browned, drain grease. Add back to the skillet.
In a small bowl, combine cornstarch with beef broth. Pour mixture into the beef.
Add in Worcestershire and pepper. Stir to combine.
Stir in cream cheese until smooth.
Add salt to taste. Remove from heat.
Lay out 6-8 buns on a baking sheet. Scoop mixture onto the bottoms of 6 buns. Top with a slice of cheese. Bake to melt the cheese, about 5 minutes. Top with the top bun, and serve warm!

Notes
If you want to stretch the filling a little further (like if you have a bigger family, like us!), add 8 ounces of finely chopped mushrooms. They're meaty like ground beef, and won't alter the flavor too much.
Salt: Salt is added last as cream cheese can sometimes be a little salty. Add it at the end, and taste test.
Storage: Store remaining filling covered in the refrigerator for up to 3-5 days.
Freezer Directions: After preparing filling, allow to cool to room temperature. Transfer to a freezer bag or container. Freeze for up to 3-6 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator. Reheat on the stove before assembling sloppy joes.
