breakfast sausage

hearty bread slices

prepared yellow mustard

teaspoon

black pepper

shredded cheddar
divided

tablespoons
sliced green onions or fresh chives
for garnish
Instructions
In a medium skillet over medium heat, brown sausage. Continue cooking until cooked through until no longer pink. Drain and set aside.
In a lightly greased 9"x13" baking dish, place slices of bread in 2 to 3 layers. You can rip bread to help it fit better, if necessary.
Pour slightly cooled sausage on top of bread layers, and spread evenly. Set aside.
In a large bowl, add all eggs. Lightly whisk eggs.
Add milk, mustard, salt, and pepper and continue beating until fully combined.
Add

cup cheese to the egg mixture. Stir to combine.
Pour egg mixture on top of bread layers. Top with remaining cheese.
Bake in a 350°F oven for about 45 minutes or until cooked through.
Top with sliced green onions or fresh chives before serving.
