Making your own Slow Cooker Applesauce couldn't be easier with just ONE ingredient! A healthy and delicious snack for kids that's easy to make, right in your Crockpot!
6poundssweet applesI usually use Gala, peeled, cored, and diced
Optional ingredients
½cupsugar
Water
Instructions
Toss the apples into the Crockpot. (Add sugar now too, if you want to sweeten it)
Cook on low for 4-6 hours or until apples are very soft, stirring every hour or two.
When the apples are cooked through, puree them in a blender or food processor, for a thin applesauce. Depending on the size of your processor, you may need to puree in several batches. For a chunkier applesauce, mash the apples with a potato masher. If you find your applesauce is too thick just add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until it reaches the desired consistency.
Store in covered containers. If freezing, place in a freezer safe container until ready for use.
