Ingredients
2poundspizza dough(store bought or homemade)
Olive oil
2tablespoonsbutter
2tablespoonsflour
1cupmilk
3 ½cupsshredded cheesedivided
¼teaspoongarlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1cupsdiced ham
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Heat oven to 475°F. Lightly grease a large 14-16" pizza dish.
Using a rolling pin, roll out your pizza dough until desired size and thickness is reached. Carefully transfer to pizza pan and adjust accordingly.
Using your fingers, push dents into the surface of the dough to prevent bubbling. Brush the surface lightly with olive oil to prevent the toppings from making the dough soggy.
Meanwhile, melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
Add flour to hot butter. Stir to combine. Allow to heat back up for a minute.
Begin slowly adding milk, a tablespoon or two at a time, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
Cook and stir until mixture thickens, about 3 minutes.
Add 1½ cups shredded cheese and stir until cheese is melted, about 3 minutes more. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Pour cheese sauce on pizza crust. Top with ham and remaining shredded cheese.
Sprinkle on parsley for garnish.
Bake 13 to 15 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
Notes
Storage: Store leftover pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Freeze before baking: Assemble the pizza fully on a pan (dough, sauce, toppings), then wrap tightly in plastic wrap and foil. Freeze for up to 2 months. Bake straight from frozen at 475°F, adding a few extra minutes to the bake time until the crust is golden and cooked through.
Freeze After Baking: Allow pizza to cool completely, then slice and wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Place in a freezer-safe bag or container and freeze for up to 2 months. To reheat from frozen, bake at 350°F in the oven or air fryer until heated through.
Reheating: Reheat in the oven at 350°F until warmed through, or in the air fryer for a few minutes to crisp the crust. The microwave works in a pinch, but the crust will be softer.
