Ingredients
16ouncesbow tie pasta
1poundbaconchopped
½cupflour
1½teaspoonsonion powder
1½teaspoonsground mustard
½teaspoonwhite pepper
3½cupsmilk
8ouncessharp cheddarshredded
Instructions
Cook pasta to package instructions. Drain. Set aside.
While pasta is cooking, brown bacon in a large pot until bacon is crisp. Remove bacon to a paper towel, leaving drippings in the pot.
Stir in flour, onion powder, ground mustard, and white pepper. Allow to heat through for about 2 minutes.
Add milk, about ¼ cup at a time, stirring between each addition.
Continue cooking and stirring over medium heat until sauce thickens.
When mixture is hot and thick, begin stirring in cheese, in small increments until all cheese is combined.
Pour cooked pasta and half the bacon into the cheese sauce and stir well to combine.
Sprinkle the remaining bacon on top. Serve hot.

Use freshly grated cheese to make sure it melts smoothly for a perfectly creamy sauce.
Storage: Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Freezer Directions: Allow to cool to room temperature. Transfer to freezer dish or bag. Freeze for up to 3-6 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator. Then heat on in a pot on the stove, adding a little more cheese if necessary.
