1½cupgranulated sugar
12ouncesfresh cranberries
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, combine water and ½ cup sugar.
Bring to a boil and let it simmer on low heat for 3 minutes.
Stir in cranberries to fully coat in the syrup. Remove from heat and continue stirring for 1 minute.
Remove cranberries to a parchment lined baking sheet or metal rack to allow cranberries to dry out for 1 hour. Do not let the cranberries sit in puddles, and try to spread them out as best as possible.

Storage: Store in an air tight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or in the refrigerator for one week. If the sugary coating begins to soften or look a little wet, simply toss them in more sugar.
Leftover Syrup: If you have leftover simple syrup (sugar and water), you can place it in an airtight container in the refrigerator and use it for cocktails or hot or cold coffee during the holiday season!
