Ingredients
2¼cupsgranulated sugar
1cupall-purpose flour
1cupunsweetened cocoa powder
¼teaspoonsalt
1½cupsunsalted buttermelted
6large eggs
1tablespoonvanilla extract
12ouncessemi-sweet chocolate chips
Caramel Filling
1can(14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1package(11 ounces) caramel squaresunwrapped
¼teaspoonsalt
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a 9"x13" inch baking dish with parchment paper. Set aside
In a large mixing bowl combine sugar, flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir well.
Then whisk in melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract, until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips. Set aside.
Prepare the caramel filling: In a small sauce pot combine the sweetened condensed milk, unwrapped caramels, and salt.
Place over medium heat and stir continuously until the caramels have melted and combined into the condensed milk mixture. Remove from heat.
Spread half the prepared brownie batter in the prepared baking dish.
Pour the caramel over the batter and level out evenly. Then spread the remaining brownie batter over the top of the caramel.
Bake for 40-45 minutes, until a tooth pick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool completely before trying to cut. Once cool, lift the entire sheet of brownies out of the pan by the edges of the parchment paper. Cut into 24-30 pieces.

Storage: Cover and store brownies at room temperature for up to a week.
Freezing Instructions: Brownies freeze well up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator then bring to room temperature before serving.
