Ingredients
2½cupswatermelon juice
½cuptequila(8 ounces)
¼cuptriple sec
⅓cupfresh lime juice
1 to 2 tablespoonsagave syrup
Ice for shaking and serving
1cupcoarse salt for rims
Limesfor garnish
Instructions
Pack a large blender full of cubed ripe watermelon (with or without seeds) and blend until you have a juice. One small watermelon should yield roughly 3-5 cups, so you will have leftover juice for extra margaritas. Strain the juice for pulp and seeds if desired.***If making frozen margaritas, pour 2½ cups watermelon juice and place in the freezer until frozen.***
To prepare glasses, pour some margarita salt on a plate. Cut a lime into wedges and rub the wet part against the rim of the glass in a circular motion. Then dip the cup upside down onto the salt and press down, moving slowly to ensure all sides are covered. Set aside until ready for use.
In a large pitcher, mix 2½ cups watermelon juice with tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and agave. Stir until combined.***If making frozen margaritas, add watermelon ice cubes with remaining ingredients into a blender, and blend until combined.***
Pour into salted rim glass and serve with lime.
