Dinner does not get quicker or easier than these Air Fryer Shrimp Tacos. Just toss them in olive oil and seasoning, throw them in the air fryer for 6 minutes, and dinner is ready!

Air Fryer Shrimp Tacos feature juicy, succulent seasoned shrimp cooked to perfections in just minutes in the air fryer, then topped with a creamy, tangy cilantro lime slaw. Thanks to the air fryer, the shrimp come out perfectly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The tender, flavorful shrimp pair beautifully with the cool, crisp cilantro lime slaw, all tucked into warm, soft tortillas for a perfect bite every time.

Toppings Ideas

I think the slaw is really the only topping necessary, as it adds the perfect amount of creamy, zesty, crisp, and fresh flavor. But you can mix and match to make your tacos your own:

  • Hot sauce or sriracha - Add it on top of the prepared tacos or right into the slaw itself.
  • Pickled red onions - I can never resist adding these if I have them in the fridge! Make your own quickly with this recipe. They're great to have on hand.
  • Mango or pineapple - Add some diced tropical fruit to add to the tropical shrimp flavor.
  • Cotija cheese - a little sprinkle of cheese will add some extra rich saltiness.

Ingredients

Cilantro Lime Slaw

  • 14 ounces coleslaw mix
  • 1 apple shredded
  • ½ cup sliced green onions
  • ½ cup chopped cilantro leaves
  • Juice from 2 limes (about 2 tablespoons)
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ cup full fat Greek yogurt
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Shrimp Tacos

  • 1 pound shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1½ teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chile lime seasoning (tajin)
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt plus more to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Tortillas for serving, corn or flour
  • Toppings such as avocado, cotija cheese, or pico de gallo

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, add all coleslaw ingredients. Stir to fully combine and coat the coleslaw with sauce. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • In a separate large bowl, add shrimp and toss with olive oil.
  • Add remaining seasonings, and toss to coat shrimp.
  • Transfer shrimp to the air fryer basket and cook at 400°F for 6 to 7 minutes until shrimp is cooked through and pink. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to work in batches.
  • Serve shrimp on tortillas topped with slaw.

Notes

Storage: Store leftover shrimp and slaw in separate air tight containers for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 3–4 minutes, or until warmed through.
