Ham and Pimento Cheese Sliders
Did you know that February is National Snack Food Month? I recently found out about this event, and I have to say, I'm a little disappointed that I didn't find out sooner! I love snacks! I live for snacks! I have a day in my meal planning that is solely dedicated to snacks for dinner (and is labeled that way on our meal planner!). Sigh. Well, I guess I'll just have to make up for lost time, so I'm super excited to partner with Farm Rich to share this drool-worthy Ham and Pimento Cheese Sliders recipe in honor of National Snack Food Month and talk a little bit about some easy and delicious snacks.
Before I share the recipe, let's talk about snacks for a minute, and I'll tell you how my designated snack day came about. Our family is busy every day of the week, it seems, with school and sports and activities and work and my hubby's irregular firefighter work schedule. Through it all, I try to cook daily, partially because eating at home saves money, but mostly because family dinners are important to us. So after cooking all week and working and chauffeuring the kids around, I've made one day of rest from everything. That includes cooking. And sometimes I even get a nap.
That day is Sunday at our house, and I'm going to tell you how it works because I know you want one, too.
I have taught my kids to get their own Sunday breakfast. They can get up and make it themselves. Most of the time these days, it's an easy breakfast like Farm Rich French Toast Sticks, such as Egg Cheese & Sausage Pull Aparts, Chocolate Glazed or Cinnamon Sugar Donut Holes, French Toast Sticks, and Blueberry or Cinnamon Scones. I asked my kids which is their favorite, and got three different answers. Lol. But I know they love them all. If your child is old enough to read and/or operate the microwave or oven safely with minimal supervision (my oldest finally is! Yay!), then just tell them they're in charge of breakfast for your day off, and the directions are right on the box. If your children are a little younger or you just don't want your kids handling the oven quite yet, not to worry. There are also microwave instructions. I just tell my younger kids which buttons to press. So for eggs in a mug, they know press Four, Five, Start. And for the Farm Rich French Toast Sticks, press One, Three, Zero, Start. Ta-da! Breakfast without cooking.
For lunch, my family comes over and does the cooking. Because I'm such a kind person, I will occasionally set the table or chop veggies. But usually my job is to be the cousin wrangler (we have five kids ages zero to seven here on Sundays!) while the other adults cook. If you don't have family nearby that you can con into cooking lovingly invite over for lunch, might I suggest prepping a meal to throw in the oven (pasta is great for this!) or making a quick recipe for the slow cooker the night before? Well worth the effort to get a day of relaxing freedom.
Then for dinner (which sometimes is after my much-coveted nap), we have snacks. Now since it is my day off, they have to be easy, but they also have to be good. We love Farm Rich snacks and appetizers. They are made with wholesome ingredients, quick-frozen, and carefully packaged. Plus, there are so many options! If you've been reading here for any amount of time, you know I am very passionate about cheese. Thankfully, there are lots of cheesy Farm Rich snack options like Mozzarella Sticks, Cheese Curds, and one of my favorites (and the one in my recipe today!) Pimento Cheese Bites. My hubby's favorites are the Mozzarella Bites and Boneless Buffalo Style Chicken Bites (we've even brought them on get-aways for a little snack treat at his request). My kids love the cheesy snacks that I love (because, well, they are half me...), and they also love the Meatballs, Potato Skins, and Pizza Roll Ups. See? So many options! And that's not even all of the choices!! You can see all of the Farm Rich snack choices here. They're so good, and so easy to make. The perfect ending to my relaxing, no-cooking day, and the perfect start before a crazy busy, chaotic week.
Now that you know about how to have your snack and eat it too, let's talk about this Ham and Pimento Cheese Sliders recipe. It's so easy my seven year old can make it (or my husband, for that matter)! It takes just 5 minutes to prep. And these sliders are so. Good. Buttery sweet buns, salty ham, creamy and zesty Pimento Cheese Bites make a flavorful explosion in your mouth. Then the Red Pepper Jelly sauce that comes with the Farm Rich Pimento Cheese Bites takes it from great to to-die-for. I'm always a little skeptical about combining sweet and savory, but this combination is meant to be. We couldn't get enough of these, and all of us were sad when they were gone. We'll definitely be making them again soon, though!

Ham and Pimento Cheese Sliders Recipe
Ham and Pimento Cheese Sliders
Ingredients
- 12 slider buns
- 12 pieces Farm Rich Pimento Cheese Bites
- 12 thick cut ham slices
- 12 slices cheddar cheese
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar

- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- 2 teaspoons sesame seeds or poppy seeds
- Red Pepper Jelly Sauce for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Place bottom halves of slider buns in a baking dish so that they're touching. I just used a regular 9"x13" baking dish, and I could fit 3 buns across and 4 buns down.
- Place half cheese slices on top of the buns. Overlapping is okay.
- Place one slice of ham on each bottom bun. Fold ham slices to fit, if necessary.
- Add one Farm Rich Pimento Cheese Bite on top of each slice of ham.
- Place remaining cheese slices on top of pimento cheese bites.
- Top with top buns, and set aside.
- In a small mixing, bowl, melt butter in the microwave.
- Add brown sugar, worcestershire, and garlic powder to butter. Stir to combine.
- Pour butter mixture on top of sliders. Use a pastry or barbecue brush to spread evenly, if necessary.
- Sprinkle tops of sliders with salt and sesame or poppy seeds.
- Cover dish with foil. Bake in the 350°F oven for about 25 minutes, until cheese is melted and the buns are lightly toasted.
- Serve garnished with dill pickles or jalapeno slices with Red Pepper Jelly sauce.
