We're heading into the crop season for the summer with all of our tomatoes and peppers! ย I haven't had a big enough crop (yet!) to start canning, like I really want to. But! I did manage to get enough tomatoes to make some super tasty and easy homemade pico de gallo!
I really love pico de gallo. ย It's like salsa's fresher cousin, and in my opinion, much easier to make. ย The crisp, slight spicy flavor of all of those fresh veggies come together to make a topping or dip that's perfect for every occasion. ย I like to top these amazing tacos with homemade seasoning with fresh homemade pico de gallo. ย It really finishes off the dish!

Homemade Pico de Gallo Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 cups tomatoes chopped (about 3 large tomatoes or 8-12 Roma tomatoes)
- ยฝ a medium red onion finely chopped
- ยฝ cup fresh cilantro chopped
- 2-3 tablespoons jalapenos finely chopped
- Juice from 1 lime
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients.
- Stir to combine.
- Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes, or until ready to serve.
