Recipe Variations

One of the best things about this recipe is how easy it is to customize. Here are some fun twists to try:

  • Sweet & Spicy - Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili powder to the cinnamon sugar mixture for a sweet snack with a little heat.
  • Chocolate-Dipped - Once cooled, dip half of each pretzel in melted white, dark, or milk chocolate. Add sprinkles for holidays or parties.
  • Pumpkin Spice - Swap the cinnamon for pumpkin pie spice to give them a fall-inspired twist.
  • Vanilla Sugar - Mix a teaspoon of vanilla sugar (or add a drop of vanilla extract to the butter) for an extra sweet, fragrant flavor.
  • Caramel Drizzle - Drizzle cooled pretzels with caramel sauce for a decadent treat. Sprinkle with sea salt for a salted caramel variation.
  • Holiday Version - Toss in red and green sprinkles or drizzle with colored candy melts for a Christmas-ready snack. Perfect for gifting!
  • Nutty Crunch - Add chopped pecans or almonds before baking for extra a nutty flavor and a fun mix.
