Ranch Beer Cheese Dip
Get ready for a new party app go-to favorite! This Ranch Beer Cheese Dip has it all!
It's super creamy and packed with bold, hoppy, savory flavor. You wouldn't believe it just has 4 ingredients! The creaminess of this dip combined with the slight bite of the sharp cheddar and the bold hoppy flavor of beer keep you coming back for more.
This dip is served cold and can be made ahead, making it perfect for game day and parties.
What Kind of Beer Should I Use?
Because beer is such a strong, distinguishable flavor, I recommend using a light beer for this recipe such as Miller Lite, or Coors Light. You can also choose a non-alcoholic beer such as Beck's.
Does Ranch Beer Cheese Dip Have Alcohol?
Yes, it does. Many recipes with alcohol cook the alcohol out. Since this is a cold recipe, the alcohol will not be cooked out and will remain present. However, with such a small amount spread over many servings, it is unlikely to do anything other than add tons of bold flavor.
Ranch Beer Cheese Dip Variations
- Bacon - Of course, bacon. Because it's cheddar, ranch, and beer's BFF.
- Spice - Add some heat to this dip by adding fresh or pickled jalapenos, red pepper flakes, or a spicy hot sauce with mild flavor such as Tabasco.
- Cheese - The sharp cheddar flavor complements the beer and ranch flavors perfectly, in my opinion. But you can experiment with different flavors such a milder cheddar, a smoked gouda, or gruyere.
- Ranch Seasoning - Store bought works fine for this recipe, or have a go at making your own!
- Bold - Give your ranch cheddar beer dip an even bolder flavor punch by adding Dijon mustard or prepared horseradish to taste.
- Make it Hot! - This dip can also be served hot! Warm it up on the stovetop or in a slow cooker and serve it up fondue-style.
Can I Make It Ahead of Time?
Yes! This is a great recipe to make ahead, as it tastes even better as the flavors mesh and marry. Cover and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days ahead of time. Before serving, allow to come to room temperature for 30 to 60 minutes to soften it a bit to make for easier dipping.
What to Serve with Ranch Beer Cheese Dip
Serve this dip with the edible delivery plates of your choosing! Try any of these ideas!
- Crackers - butter crackers, crispy wheat crackers, club crackers, or any other favorite.
- Pretzels - Twists, sticks, or even crisps
- Veggies - For a lighter option, go for a crudite platter with carrots, celery, and mini bell peppers
- Bread - Try some crostini, bagel chips, or pita chips. This is a thick dip, so make sure it's hearty and preferably toasted to give it some much needed structure to hold that dip!
